Terms and Conditions

Please read this agreement carefully before accessing or using the Letter-join website operated by Green and Tempest Ltd. The information and services on the Letter-join website (www.letterjoin.co.uk) are provided by Green and Tempest Ltd subject to your agreement to the Terms and Conditions below.
DATA PROTECTION
In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we understand our obligation to store securely the contact details of our customers; those being personal identifiers, mainly names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. This data is kept securely and is only accessible by staff at Green and Tempest Ltd. All data is deleted from our systems immediately upon customer notification of termination of a subscription.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Letter-join is a subscription based website for teaching and learning cursive handwriting. The website displays animations of patterns, letters and words to aid the teaching of cursive handwriting. Other support material is provided including on-line games and activities, as well as printout sheets for information, display and worksheets for handwriting practice. Tracing practice can also be carried out on interactive whiteboards, iPads and tablets. The Tablet Edition is available with all subscriptions. Paying subscribers can use the Letter-join fonts.

ACCESS
School Edition
Subscribing schools purchase the right to access the Letter-join website for an annual fee. A subscription should be purchased for each classroom that uses Letter-join (minimum of one classroom account per school). The registered Named Administrator for a school account is entirely liable for all activities conducted through that school account, and is responsible for ensuring that any other person who uses the account is aware of, and complies with, these Terms and Conditions. Each person who uses the account agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, whether or not this person is a member. You will promptly notify us of any known or suspected unauthorised use(s) of your account, or any known or suspected breach of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorised disclosure of your username and password.
Pupil login
A Pupil login is available for pupils who attend a school with a current Letter-join subscription. Pupil login details must not be shared or disclosed to third parties. As part of a school subscription the Pupil login allows for approximately 30 logins per classroom account on tablets and PCs, at school or at the pupil’s home. All visible and programming elements of the Tablet Edition are copyright Green and Tempest Ltd 2024.
We have successfully tested the Tablet Edition of Letter-join on a wide variety of tablet/browser/operating system combinations. If, however, you find it does not operate correctly on your tablet, we will do our utmost to rectify this but cannot guarantee compatibility on every tablet.
Home Edition
Individuals subscribe to Letter-join for use on their own personal computers within a home environment for an annual fee. The person who's name is registered for an account is entirely liable for all activities conducted through that account, and is responsible for ensuring that any other person who uses the account is aware of, and complies with, these Terms and Conditions. Each person who uses the account agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, whether or not this person is a member. You will promptly notify us of any known or suspected unauthorised use(s) of your account, or any known or suspected breach of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorised disclosure of your username and password. The Home Edition does not include the download of Letter-join fonts, the Handwriting Policy or the Lesson Planners.
Free trial
Registration for the free trial of Letter-join is for assessment of the resources, and to ensure compatibility with your hardware/software combination. Please ensure that the functions within the Letter-join website are compatible with your computer and browser combination and on your schools iPads/tablets before purchasing Letter-join. If the allocated free trial period is not sufficient for you to assess Letter-join, please contact us to apply for an extended trial period. Persistent registration to the Letter-join free trial by any individual or institution may result in immediate suspention without notice. The free trial does not include downloadable Letter-join fonts, the Handwriting Policy or the Lesson Planners. The free trial of Letter-join cannot be used for commercial purposes or personal gain.
LETTER-JOIN FONTS
The Letter-join fonts are available to download for use by teachers for each classroom account, in schools that have a current, valid subscription to the School Edition of Letter-join. The fonts may also be used by administrative staff for producing whole school documents. The fonts cannot be distributed/copied or used by any other person, or used outside of a subscribing school for any purpose other than producing school documents. The Letter-join fonts must not be used by any commercial enterprise for personal gain or otherwise. When a school subscription is terminated for any reason, the fonts must be deleted from any devices where they have been installed. The Letter-join font is the copyright of Green and Tempest Ltd and must only be used as described in these Terms and Conditions. Any disregard of these terms may result in breach of copyright. Green and Tempest Ltd reserve the right to update the fonts without notice. The fonts are designed to be used in Microsoft Word, and other applications that support Contextual Alternates, although Letter-join Basic is available for programmes that do not support Contextual Alternates.
SUBSCRIPTION FEE
Invoices are sent by email for new subscriptions and renewals. The payment terms are 30 days. Green and Tempest Ltd reserves the right to change the amount of any fees or charges for a Letter-join subscription, and to institute new fees by posting such changes on the Letter-join website.
Your Letter-join subscription will not autorenew when it expires. An email will be sent periodically to the email addresses we have on record before the expiry of the subscription, giving you the option to renew.
It is not the responsibility of Green and Tempest Ltd if your access is suspended because the subscription is not renewed. You are advised to renew your subscription at least two weeks before your account is due to expire. If your account becomes overdue, Green and Tempest Ltd will suspend your Letter-join subscription until payment is received.
Please note that we are unable to accept cancellation once your subscription has been activated as a trial subscription is freely available for assessment purposes.
LOGIN DETAILS
Access to your Letter-join subscription is by username and password or swipe code (on iPads/tablets). The Named Administrator will be provided with log-in details. The School log-in details should not be shared with anyone, nor should they be displayed publicly (e.g. on a school website, intranet, forum or blog) or published in any shape or form. Pupil log-in details for the Home Edition may be distributed to pupils and their parents in print form but must not be published on any website. Once your log-in details are issued it is your responsibility to keep a record of them and their expiry date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password, and you will be responsible for all uses of your username and password, whether or not authorised by you.
Should your log-in details be lost or forgotten, these can only be retrieved by the Named Administrator by contacting Green and Tempest Ltd directly, preferably by email.
COPYRIGHTS
All materials contained on the Letter-join website (as well as the organisation, colour scheme and layout of the site), are owned and copyrighted by Green and Tempest Ltd. This means that you may only view or download material from the Letter-joi website for your own use as a teacher and that of your pupils within your own educational establishment, or for personal use within their home. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purpose is strictly prohibited. No part of the website can be copied, cached or made accessible through links from a website or intranet or any other published source without permission of the owners.
CHANGES TO THE SITE
Green and Tempest Ltd may make improvements or changes in the information, services, products, and other materials on the Letter-join website, or terminate  part of the service, at any time without notice.
Green and Tempest Ltd may modify this agreement at any time, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting of the modified agreement on the website.
Accordingly, you agree to review the agreement periodically, and your continued access or use of this site shall be deemed your acceptance of the modified agreement.
DISCLAIMERS
Green and Tempest Ltd strives to keep the information on the Letter-join website accurate, complete, and up-to-date. However, errors and omissions do occur and you should not take the accuracy of the information for granted. All content and other materials published or otherwise made available through Letter-join are provided 'as is' and 'as available' and without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose.
Because of the nature of the service, Letter-join does not warrant that it will be uninterrupted and available at all times. We will not be liable if we are unable to perform our obligations under these Terms and Conditions due to the failure of any machine, data processing system or transmission link or to any circumstances beyond our control.
Because we do not have control over your local internet connection and computer specifications and settings, we make no warranty or representation that you will be able to access all parts of the website reliably. Technical support is available through our online trouble-shooting page, but Green and Tempest Ltd cannot provide personalised technical support. Advice and help should be sought from your IT or network manager before you subscribe to the service to make sure that your network and internet services meet the technical requirements. Green and Tempest Ltd does not charge for data storage and is not responsible for any data loss i.e. saved Word Banks and On-line Word Processor documents.
REMEDIES FOR BREACH
In the event that Green and Tempest Ltd determines, in its sole discretion, that you have breached any portion of these Terms and Conditions, or have otherwise demonstrated inappropriate conduct, Green and Tempest Ltd reserves the right to suspend or terminate your Letter-join subscription with Green and Tempest Ltd and/or any other Green and Tempest Ltd service.
We can terminate your account at any time without prior notice if you commit a breach of these Terms and Conditions.
TERMS OF USE
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising here shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If these Terms and Conditions are not accepted in full, you should not access or use the service.
